Matt Berninger in music videos 2003-2011
I’m trying to write everyday, but I’m staring at my work thinking “this is absolute shit”. Give me something else to write about. Any topic you think would be interesting. What should I write about?
Leo Tolstoy asked himself “What am I?” This was his response.
“One of four sons of a retired lieutenant-colonel, left an orphan at seven years of age in the care of women and strangers, having neither a social education nor an academic education and becoming my own master at the age of seventeen, without large fortune, without any social position…without patrons, without the ability to live in society, without knowledge of the service, without practiced talents – but with enormous self-love!…I am ugly, awkward, untidy, and socially uneducated. I am irritable, boring to other people, immodest, intolerant and bashful as a child. I am almost an ignoramus…I am intemperate, irresolute, inconstant, stupidly vain and passionate like all people who lack character. I am not brave.”
So everyone, I can play guitar, but only chords, relatively easy chords at that. I’m trying to learn some scales so I can actually play notes, and it would really help me if anyone is either good at fingerpicking or knows of good places online to learn about it.
Any advice?
Thanks!
eulogyslinger asked: Okay now I'm intrigued - what are YOUR top 3 songs re: death?
Well these aren’t necessarily about death exactly, but I always associate them with death for one reason or another.
1. Collapse the Light Into Earth - Porcupine Tree
I’ve always thought this would be a good song to die to.
2. Head Rolls Off - Frightened Rabbit
One of those songs that tries to comfort you while also telling you that you’re definitely going to die
3. Street Spirit (Fade Out) - Radiohead
You’re going to die. There’s no comfort. There’s nothing you can do. Utter bleakness.
